This in turn means you will want to make sure that you sell enough advertising space to cover the print cost.) Provide a different content on your website to that of your magazine. Also use the website to promote the magazine.

Sales, promotion and profits.
You will find Many online magazines are completely free. The publisher, namely you, makes money by selling advertising space.

You could also make money with a few affiliate endorsements. For example, if you have a magazine about mobile technology you might become an affiliate for Verizon. For each new customer you send to Verizon results in a commission for you. Tread carefully here though as readers want to feel like they’re getting an unbiased content, and not a marketing piece.

You can also charge a subscription for your magazine. If you do decide to this, you may want to consider giving the first one away for free. Once the readers see how great your magazine is, they will be happy to pay the subscription.

A team.
If you plan on doing all the work yourself for your first few issues that’s okay. However, it is recommended that you find a few people to write some of the articles for you  this will help with the credibility of the magazine if you’re not the only writer. Your first issue may go out without any paid advertising.

You might want to consider becoming an affiliate for a few other companies in your industry. Use their banner advertisements to work as place holders until you have paid advertisers. The transition for your readers will be seamless. And you might even earn a little extra affiliate income in the process.

Equipment.
You will require a computer with an internet connection, also word processing software and software to layout and design your magazine. Publisher, PowerPoint and many other basic office products will surfice, so if you have a computer and basic software then you are ready to get started.
